Ebola outbreak in Uganda
Uganda has declared an Ebola Virus Disease outbreak, according to the country's health ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday.
The ministry announced on Twitter that an Ebola case had been confirmed in the central Mubende district, involving a 24-year-old man who developed symptoms and ultimately died.
The case was of the relatively rare Sudan strain, according to the WHO's Africa branch, after Ugandan health authorities probed six unexplained fatalities in the district this month.
There are currently eight suspected cases receiving care. WHO is assisting Uganda's health authorities with their investigation and deploying personnel to the affected area.

Joe Biden — Covid pandemic over.
President Joe Biden announced the pandemic over in the United States, despite the fact that the number of Americans dying from Covid continues to climb.
According to data from Johns Hopkins University, 3,000 deaths occurred in the previous week alone. In comparison, a single week in January 2021 saw more than 23,000 deaths from Covid. Today, approximately 65% of the overall US population is completely vaccinated.
Mr. Biden feels the pandemic has had a "profound" influence on the American psyche.
The World Health Organization's director-general also stated last week that the end of the pandemic was in sight. In recent weeks, public health officials have expressed cautious optimism that the world is on the verge of a pandemic recovery, but they have also urged people to remain cautious.
